The Mint Julep has been the signature drink for the Kentucky Derby since 1938 and we like to share in the tradition here in Racing’s summer home – Saratoga Springs! The Kentucky Derby, traditionally held the first weekend in May since 1875 and this year will be run on Saturday, May 7th, 2016. Saratoga Springs likes to celebrate the Kentucky Derby in it’s many fun raising parties and events around town. One of our favorites and one we are helping to sponsor this year is celebrated at our own National Museum of Racing and Hall of Fame! I feel that the Derby is the unofficial start to our own beloved and historic racing season. Being that we are a gift shop that celebrates racing every single day, of course we have Mint Julep Cups, paper party products, tea towels from the Mary Lake Thompson collection with the Mint Julep recipe printed on it so you will never be without this delectable southern drink! Coming soon will be the official 2016 Kentucky Derby glass. We like to celebrate the Derby in style and help our friends do the same!
